All kinds of people can play! Nike 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament will take place August 7-8, 2010!
Nike 3 on 3 is home to every kind of baller there is: short, tall, college standout, rec league champion, intramural player, gym rat, AAU or YMCA participant. Even if you haven't touched a ball, if you want to play, we want you to play. Our youngest players must be entering the third grade during the fall of 2010. After that, it's anyone's game.
The Elite Division may represent a small fraction of our teams, but it shines as arguably the most competitive ball in the region. It often features former CBA and European professionals, former college superstars, high school standouts, and more than a few playground legends.
Nike 3 on 3 encourages all collegiate athletes to check with their Athletic Directors prior to participating. As prizes are given to the winners of each bracket, Nike 3 on 3 is not an NCAA certified event.
Athletics are a valuable way to enhance a person's physical, intellectual and emotional well-being. They offer an outlet for individuals to exert positive energy in an environment that is both fun and competitive. We invite you to play hard and play fair; to enjoy the game, regardless of the end result; to try your best and be proud of your efforts; to appreciate your teammates and opponents and their performances; and to recognize that Game Officials and other volunteers are giving their best so you may enjoy your basketball experience.
Please also remember that Nike 3 on 3 is a tobacco free event and we ask that you refrain from using tobacco products while at the event.
Awards are given to teams that take first place (Champions) and second place (Finalists) in each bracket, as well as to teams winning the consolation bracket. At the conclusion of the final game of each bracket, the Court Monitor will give awards forms to the Champions and the Finalists. The Champions must then deliver the final score sheet to the Master Scoreboard before proceeding to the adjacent Awards Tent. (This procedure must also be followed by the consolation bracket winners.) The Finalists may go straight to the Awards Tent to claim their prizes.
All players on these teams will receive award T-Shirts clearly indicating their status as icons on the mantel of Nike 3 on 3 history.
These awards are really cool, so play hard. But remember, every player who demonstrates good sportsmanship is a winner. Nike 3 on 3 officials love to see teams playing well together, and we thoroughly believe in fairness, fun and following the rules.
